Summary
A seven-day training program opened on July 26 for executives from 14 state-owned companies with temporary Egyptian Exchange listings, aiming to prepare them for public offerings.
The Financial Regulatory Authority is running the initiative through its Financial Services Institute and the Egyptian Institute of Directors to improve technical, financial and governance readiness before IPOs.
The curriculum covers 7 core areas, including listing procedures, financial reporting, disclosure, prospectus preparation, IPO execution and post-listing compliance, with input from the FRA, the EGX and licensed advisers.
The first phase targets the 20 state-owned companies now holding temporary listings, and Egypt plans to extend the program to other state enterprises in oil, mining, pharmaceuticals, tourism, construction, education and manufacturing.
The effort supports Egypt's broader privatization strategy by trying to cut listing risks, boost investor confidence and deepen liquidity on the Egyptian Exchange.
