Summary
An 18-year-old man died after a 3:33 a.m. shooting tied to a large house party on Northeast Alberta Street, and five others — including a 15-year-old boy — were injured.
Police said "shots fired in the dozens" spread over multiple blocks, with hundreds of people in the area and some victims taken to hospitals in private vehicles before officers secured the scene.
Chief Bob Day said officers had already visited the same party around 12:38 a.m. on a noise complaint, found attendees cooperative and left after things quieted down.
No arrests have been made, and investigators still do not know whether those involved were inside or outside the party or directly connected to it.
ATF, homicide detectives and the district attorney's office joined the inquiry, which police said could last all day as they search rooftops, backyards and seek tips from witnesses.
