UC Davis Medical Center was named Sacramento’s top hospital again in the 2026-2027 U.S. News rankings, extending its streak to at least 15 consecutive years.
U.S. News nationally ranked UC Davis in six adult specialties, led by Neurology & Neurosurgery at No. 20, with Geriatrics at No. 28 and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery at No. 34.
Fifteen procedures and conditions earned the highest “High Performing” designation for patient outcomes, including heart attack, heart failure, stroke, pneumonia and colon cancer surgery.
In California, UC Davis ranked 10th for cancer care, 12th for orthopaedics and 16th for cardiology and heart surgery, while remaining No. 1 in Sacramento in those regional categories.
U.S. News also gave the hospital a Best Regional Hospital for Community Access badge, recognizing care for underserved, Medicaid and minority patients.
