Your privacy becomes a matter of what you choose to expose: a custom Pixel calling card can reveal your photo, display name and visual style to anyone who dials your number, including people who do not already have you saved as a contact. The key privacy change is scope. Google’s newer self-calling-card feature is tied to your phone number and stored in your Google Account, and the reporting says it is shown to anyone who calls you. That means the image is no longer limited to friends or saved contacts on your device. If you use a personal portrait, workplace image, child’s photo or any other identifying picture, you may be broadcasting more about yourself than you realize. There is also an account-linking element. To use your own calling card, your phone number must be linked to your Google Account. That does not mean Google is newly exposing all your account details to callers, but it does mean the feature relies on account-connected identity data and pushes a profile-like presentation out more broadly. The practical risk is not just recognition but misuse. Strangers, marketers, or harassers who call your number may see a more identifiable version of you, which can make profiling, social engineering or unwanted contact easier. The safest approach is to treat the calling card as public-facing. Use a non-sensitive image, avoid revealing text, and assume anyone who has your number can see it. If that feels too open, do not create a personal calling card.

Pixel phones now let users create full-screen calling cards not just for saved contacts, but also for themselves so callers see a personalized image and text instead of the default incoming-call screen.
The self-card option works through the Phone app's Calling Card settings and requires the user's phone number to be linked to their Google Account, where the card is saved.
Users can build either type of card from the Phone or Contacts app, choosing an image from Camera, Gallery or Google Photos, then adjusting placement, font and name color.
The update expands a feature that previously customized only how contacts appeared on a user's own phone, reflecting a broader set of new Android features introduced this year.
