ABC World News Tonight Tops TV for 16th Week With 8.168 Million Viewers

8.168 million viewers made ABC’s “World News Tonight with David Muir” the top non-sports program across broadcast and cable for the week of July 27, its 16th straight week at No. 1.
The newscast also led evening news rivals in key demographics, drawing 1.078 million adults 25-54 and 822,000 adults 18-49, ahead of NBC by 130,000 and 114,000 respectively.
Against CBS, ABC’s advantage was far wider: 4.041 million more total viewers, 508,000 more adults 25-54, and 421,000 more adults 18-49.
Season to date, “World News Tonight” averages 8.327 million viewers and is on track to finish No. 1 in total viewers for a 10th straight year, its biggest lead over NBC in 31 years.
The reported weekly averages exclude Friday, July 31, because all three network newscasts aired under retitled listings, leaving the comparison based on Monday-Thursday broadcasts.
