Spencer Pratt Urges Trump to Back 25% Film Tax Credit

Spencer Pratt said he recently met Donald Trump at Trump National Golf Course Los Angeles to push a 25% federal film and TV tax credit aimed at “bring[ing] back Hollywood.”
Pratt framed the proposal as a way to repatriate U.S. production and stop Canada, the U.K. and Budapest from drawing work away from Hollywood.
Industry groups, unions and Trump Hollywood envoy Jon Voight have backed a stackable federal incentive for more than a year, but several people in that coalition said they did not believe Pratt was working with them.
The idea already has bipartisan support in Congress, with Reps. Laura Friedman and Brian Jack backing it in the House and Sen. Adam Schiff long supporting it in the Senate.
Pratt’s lobbying adds another conservative voice after David Ellison’s Washington outreach, though the White House had not commented and it remains unclear whether Trump will embrace Pratt’s version of the credit.
