Salesforce Cuts 74 San Francisco Jobs as AI Strategy Drives 4th Layoff Round

Salesforce will eliminate 74 jobs at its 415 Mission St. headquarters on Oct. 5, according to a notice filed with California state officials.
The cuts span 37 technology and product roles, 34 administrative positions and three sales and distribution jobs, as the company pushes AI across the business.
Salesforce did not identify affected teams, explain the layoffs in the filing or say whether more cuts could hit other locations.
The move marks Salesforce's fourth San Francisco layoff round in less than a year, after 262 jobs were cut in September 2025, hundreds more in February and 86 in June.
The layoffs come despite strong results: Salesforce reported $11.1 billion in revenue for the quarter ended April 30 and booked $80 million in restructuring expenses in its fiscal first quarter.
