$1.5 million from Elon Musk went last month to Aurora Action Network, a PAC backing Ballot Measure 2, according to a state filing released Friday.
$1 million of that money was passed on in late July to the repeal campaign, which wants to scrap Alaska's ranked-choice voting, open primaries and campaign-finance disclosure rules adopted in 2020.
The measure would restore closed partisan primaries and pick-one general elections, making Musk's donation a potentially pivotal share of the repeal side's fundraising.
More than $5 million has been raised by the group defending the current system, though both sides are drawing heavily from out-of-state megadonors.
A 2024 repeal attempt narrowly failed, making November's vote the second statewide test of Alaska's election overhaul.
