Summary
Petal opened atop the Aug. 15 Billboard 200 with 295,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., giving Ariana Grande her biggest week by units of the 2020s.
168,000 of those units came from album sales and 126,000 from streaming, fueled by more than 10 digital variants, 10 vinyl editions, five CDs and two cassettes.
Vinyl alone contributed 96,000 sales — Grande’s best vinyl week ever and the fifth-largest vinyl week of 2026 — while the album also debuted at No. 1 on Top Album Sales and Top Streaming Albums.
The seventh chart-topper ties Grande with Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga for the fifth-most Billboard 200 No. 1s among solo women; only Taylor Swift, Barbra Streisand, Madonna and Beyoncé have more.
Petal follows Grande’s Hot 100 No. 1 single “Hate That I Made You Love Me” and arrives as she continues her Eternal Sunshine Tour through Sept. 1.
