It is possible, but not yet established. Yabloko’s anti-war stance appears to be a major political reason it is under attack, yet the case before Russia’s Supreme Court is formally framed around alleged election-law, financing, copyright and “extremism” violations. The immediate risk is real because Rodina’s lawsuit seeks to cancel Yabloko’s federal candidate list, which would remove more than 400 approved candidates from the September State Duma race. Rodina and other pro-Kremlin figures have openly branded Yabloko “traitors” and linked their objections to the party’s calls for a ceasefire and negotiations over Ukraine. Yabloko says that is the true motive behind the case. At the same time, there are signs the outcome is not predetermined. The Central Election Commission already registered Yabloko’s list, the party has been assigned its place on the ballot, and reporting from the hearing suggests Yabloko’s lawyers are arguing the claims are weak or unrelated to the current campaign. Yabloko chairman Nikolai Rybakov has also said no registered party has previously been removed after approval, though that is not a guarantee in the current climate. So the anti-war platform may not be the legal basis on paper, but it is clearly central to the pressure campaign around the case. Whether it costs Yabloko its ballot spot depends on whether the court converts that pressure into a formal disqualification. As of today, Yabloko remains on the ballot, but its position is precarious.

Kirill Rumyantsev, a Yabloko candidate in Saratov’s Balashov district, said threats against him and his family began on Aug. 6 and were meant to force him out of September’s State Duma election.
Telegram screenshots and a police complaint backed his account, which included warnings that he would be killed or framed with planted drugs if he kept criticizing United Russia.
Rumyantsev said he will stay in the race and linked the intimidation to a worsening climate for dissent around one of Russia’s few established parties opposing the war in Ukraine.
Yabloko was cleared to run only last week but is already under attack from rival parties; Rodina has asked the Supreme Court to revoke its access to the ballot.
The pressure comes as exiled opposition figures urge Russians to vote for Yabloko, while party leader Nikolai Rybakov tries to distance it from groups banned or labeled undesirable in Russia.
