Summary
$200-$300 U.S. price increases are now expected for the iPhone 18 Pro line, potentially lifting starting prices to about $1,399 for the Pro and $1,499 for the Pro Max.
TrendForce said the hikes are unavoidable because the iPhone 18 Pro's bill of materials is nearly 40% higher than the iPhone 17 Pro, driven by pricier RAM, storage and A20 Pro chips amid a memory shortage.
256GB base storage is still expected to remain unchanged from the iPhone 17 Pro, after Apple doubled the minimum from 128GB on the iPhone 16 Pro last year.
Apple has already raised prices on Macs, iPads, Apple TV, HomePod and Vision Pro over the same chip-cost pressure, and is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro models in September.
