The hardware appears in black and teal with gold Triforce detailing — including a gold dock emblem, patterned Joy-Cons, and gold shoulder buttons and triggers on the controller.
Nintendo had not publicly marked Zelda’s 40th anniversary even after the original NES launch date passed, and IGN said it had contacted the company for comment.
The leak adds to expectations of a broader 2026 Zelda rollout that already includes a confirmed Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake due before year-end and a live-action film set for April 30, 2027.
