Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested 32-year-old Di-Quan Schafar Hunt on Thursday after a July 30 street attack left a woman hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Video posted on X showed Hunt yelling at the woman, punching her to the ground, then standing over her and slapping her before fleeing, according to police.
Police said Hunt was taken to a medical facility after his arrest and will be transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office to face an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
Sheriff's records show Hunt has been arrested nine times since 2023, and police are investigating several similar assaults on women that authorities say he recorded himself committing.
