Global Graphite Market to Hit $22.1 Billion by 2030 as EV Anode Demand Surges

$22.1 billion is the projected size of the global graphite market by 2030, up from $14.6 billion in 2025, according to BCC Research.
An 8.7% CAGR is being driven chiefly by rising EV production, which is boosting demand for graphite in lithium-ion battery anodes, where no scalable substitute yet exists.
Asia-Pacific holds a 60.1% market share, supported by concentrated battery and electrode manufacturing and China's roughly 1,270 thousand tons of graphite output in 2024.
Battery and electrode demand is also expanding through fuel cells, electrolyzers, supercapacitors and electric-arc-furnace steelmaking, while grid-scale storage and renewable buildout add another growth channel.
Newer technologies such as CSPG, lower-emission production methods and graphite-silicon anodes are widening the market's outlook as producers push supply-chain diversification beyond China.
