Google Adds Cloud AI to Pixel Journal in Version 2026.07.27.x as Pixel 11 Launches

Version 2026.07.27.x brings Pixel Journal’s biggest change: a new auto-formatting tool that uses Google’s cloud-based Private AI Compute instead of running only on-device.
Google says the feature can rewrite entries in simple or expressive mode while keeping data in a secure, isolated environment across the device and cloud; users can also disable AI features in settings.
The update also adds timed journaling reminders for around 7 a.m., 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., plus a new Customization tab for Compact or Full media layouts.
UI tweaks round out the release, including a Refresh button and explicit Close control in Inspiration, along with dark-theme and calendar visibility changes.
The rollout is tied to the Pixel 11 launch but is already appearing on some older devices, though it is not yet widely available.
