Q: Can the new O+ Connect tools in OxygenOS 16 finally create a seamless ecosystem between your smartphone and Mac?

Not fully, but O+ Connect in OxygenOS 16 gets closer than OnePlus has before to making a OnePlus phone and a Mac feel like part of the same workflow. The biggest improvement is practical integration. OxygenOS 16 adds cross-device file search, so users can search files on their phone and computer at the same time, and it improves clipboard sync with Mac through a more native implementation. Reviews of the update say this makes copying text between a OnePlus device and a Mac much more reliable, especially for work tasks. O+ Connect also already supports screen mirroring and file transfer between OnePlus phones and macOS. That said, “seamless ecosystem” is still too strong. Apple’s own ecosystem remains deeper because it is built into macOS and iOS at the system level, while O+ Connect depends on a separate app and feature support can vary by device, region, and software version. Some O+ Connect functions on Apple devices have also shown regional limits, especially around iPhone transfer features, suggesting the experience is not yet universally frictionless. For Mac users with a OnePlus phone, the update is meaningful. Clipboard sync, file search, and cross-device transfer make daily use much easier and move O+ Connect beyond a basic file-sharing tool. But it still feels like a strong bridge between two ecosystems, not a true single ecosystem in the Apple sense.
