Even so, Apple has some room to offset that pressure. The Neo line reportedly uses binned iPhone-class chips, which helps lower silicon costs, and the MacBook Neo 2 is expected to be only a modest refresh rather than a redesign. That gives Apple options to preserve the headline price by accepting slightly lower margins, limiting discounts, or keeping storage unchanged. The most likely outcome is that Apple tries to keep the Neo 2 at today’s $699 standard price, with $599 still possible for education or refurbished channels. If memory costs worsen further, a price increase cannot be ruled out, but Apple appears more likely to defend the Neo’s budget positioning than abandon it quickly.
