Several Walt Disney World additions are now targeting 2027 openings, with Disney detailing what it called the resort’s largest expansion slate ever at its D23 showcase.
Magic Kingdom will add Villains Land with 2 rides and a Cars-themed Piston Peak area with 2 attractions, while Carousel of Progress gets four new decades and a refreshed scene in late spring 2027.
Hollywood Studios will begin welcoming guests to Monstropolis in 2027, adding dining, shopping and a Monsters, Inc. coaster as the park redevelops the former Muppet Vision 3D area.
EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth is set for its first major update in nearly 20 years, and Animal Kingdom’s Tropical Americas will bring Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions as DinoLand U.S.A. is replaced.
Many of the projects were first announced in 2024, but Disney still withheld opening dates for several attractions even as construction advances across all four parks.
