Summary
About 150,000 voters in Miami-Dade and more than 120,000 in Broward had cast early ballots by Sunday, the final day of early voting before Florida’s primary on Tuesday.
Voters told NBC6 they chose to vote early to make sure their voices were heard and to avoid long lines, scheduling conflicts or forgetting to vote on primary day.
Miami-Dade closed early voting at 4 p.m. and operated 23 sites, while Broward offered 21 sites as turnout continued through the day.
Tuesday’s primary will decide local referendums, county commission seats and party nominees for governor in races that vary by where voters live.
