Summary
Police said Karen Solomon, 58, is being sought for questioning after off-duty Worcester officer Kurt Solomon, 57, was found dead Tuesday morning at the couple's Wildwood Avenue home.
Chief Paul Saucier said she is presumed armed and dangerous and was last seen walking toward Westcott Street in pajama shorts and a tank top after officers responded around 5:30 a.m. to a reported medical situation.
A reverse 911 alert covered a 2.5-mile radius, and local, state and federal agencies — including U.S. Marshals, Homeland Security and a Customs and Border Protection helicopter — joined the search.
District Attorney Joseph Early called Karen Solomon a suspect but said authorities want her for questioning, while police withheld more detail on the relationship under Massachusetts domestic-violence disclosure laws.
Kurt Solomon was identified by the police union as a 31-year department veteran nearing retirement; Karen Solomon founded First H.E.L.P., a first-responder mental health nonprofit, and had publicly supported police work.
