Summary
Up to 40 suspects stormed Bellflower’s family-run A-Z Market for about two minutes after three people used power tools to smash glass and cut the security gate lock, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
$30,000 in stolen goods and damage was reported after the break-in, with surveillance video and post-incident photos showing shattered glass, ransacked aisles and broken display cases.
The street takeover on Bellflower Boulevard also blocked emergency responders from reaching the scene, while deputies issued multiple citations tied to the takeover but made no burglary arrests.
Authorities are asking the public to help identify the suspects as investigators also examine a similar mob-style burglary in East Los Angeles days earlier, where 26 people allegedly hit an AutoZone.
