Four of seven Laramie County voting centers were counted after polls closed Tuesday, with Troy Thompson leading the GOP commissioner field at 2,689 votes, followed by Gunnar Malm at 2,561 and Jess Ketcham at 2,537.
In other county races, Brian Kozak led the GOP sheriff primary with 3,658 votes to Eric Norris’s 2,318, while Misty Tinney and Connie Czarnecki held the top two spots in the GOP clerk race.
All 14 sixth-penny tax propositions were ahead in the partial count, with Proposition 7 showing the widest margin at 5,214 votes for and 2,127 against.
Cheyenne’s city races also produced early leaders: Maren Kallas topped Ward I with 282 votes, Janelle Rose led Ward II with 817, and Ken Esquibel led Ward III with 541.
The results remain incomplete and will shape November’s general election, where the top three GOP commissioner candidates and other advancing contenders move on.
