Pixel 11 Strengthens Pixelsnap Magnets, Closing Gap With iPhone MagSafe

Pixel 11 upgrades Pixelsnap with stronger, more reliable rear magnets, making kickstands and other accessories harder to dislodge than on the Pixel 10.
Testing found the new grip sits just below Apple’s MagSafe strength, requiring more force to remove an attached accessory and reducing accidental detachments.
That matters because earlier Pixelsnap magnets could feel insecure without a case, while the Pixel 11 improves direct-to-phone use for magnetic accessories.
Google remains one of only a few Android brands shipping built-in magnetic support—alongside HMD and Motorola—while many rivals still rely on cases instead of Qi2-style magnets.
