Rigetti Creates Delivery Unit, Names COO and CTO as 108-Qubit System Demand Rises

Summary
Rigetti set up a dedicated Systems Delivery organization and made David Rivas COO and Andrew Bestwick CTO, with the changes effective Aug. 18.
Increased demand for on-premises deployments drove the overhaul, spanning 9-qubit Novera machines to larger 108-qubit Cepheus-class systems that had previously been supported inside engineering.
Rivas, formerly CTO, now takes charge of fabrication operations, systems delivery, software engineering, applications, business development, government programs, supply chain and facilities.
Bestwick, previously senior vice president for quantum systems, will lead quantum processor development, chip fabrication development and hardware engineering, including Rigetti's Cepheus-1-108Q roadmap target of 99.5% median two-qubit gate fidelity.
The split gives customer deployment and support their own leadership while keeping technology as Rigetti's largest engineering organization, reflecting a push to scale commercial execution without slowing processor innovation.
