Summary
A federal judge sentenced 27-year-old Tennessee man Kyle Spitze to 77 years in prison, the longest federal term yet for any associate of the online extremist network 764.
Prosecutors said Spitze, who used the moniker "Criminal," claimed to have groomed more than 2,600 victims and drove young girls into sexual exploitation, self-harm and animal torture; two victims later died by suicide.
One 12-year-old girl was coerced into cutting herself and killing a chicken on video after Spitze threatened to expose explicit material and attack her home, according to court filings.
The FBI classifies 764 as part of "nihilistic violent extremism" and says it has more than 450 open cases tied to that threat, nearly double a year earlier.
Spitze pleaded guilty in late 2024 to child pornography and animal-cruelty charges, while his father separately received nearly six years for contacting a victim and urging her to delete evidence.
