Amazfit Releases Balance 3 Titanium in US for $449.99, 22% Above Stainless Steel

Q: Is shedding just seven grams of weight really worth an eighty dollar premium, or is Amazfit's new titanium watch a clever pricing decoy?

For most buyers, no: the extra seven grams alone do not justify the $80 premium. The Balance 3 Titanium delivers the same display, battery life, sensors, GPS, storage, water resistance and software features as the $369.99 stainless-steel model. On pure function-per-dollar, the standard Balance 3 remains the smarter buy. The titanium version’s case does offer real, if limited, advantages. Grade 5 titanium is lighter, more corrosion-resistant and generally feels more premium than stainless steel and polymer. On a large 51.4mm watch, dropping from 62g to 55g could improve long-wear comfort, especially for runners, gym users and people who sleep with the watch on. But an 11% weight reduction is subtle, not transformative, and it does not change performance. That pricing also looks strategically useful for Amazfit. At $449.99, the titanium Balance 3 sits neatly between the regular Balance 3 and the $599.99 Balance Ultra. That middle placement can make the $369.99 model look like the value pick and the $599.99 Ultra look easier to justify for buyers already considering a premium option. In that sense, it does resemble a classic pricing decoy. Still, calling it only a decoy would be too harsh. There is a real customer for titanium: buyers who care about materials, wrist comfort and finish more than feature gains. For everyone else, Amazfit’s own lineup makes the answer clear: the stainless-steel Balance 3 offers essentially the same watch for less money.

$449.99 Amazfit Balance 3 Titanium is now on sale in the US after spending more than two months in “coming soon” status following its June announcement.
An $80 premium over the $369.99 stainless-steel model buys Grade 5 titanium construction and a lighter 55-gram case, down from 62 grams — about an 11% reduction.
Core specs stay unchanged: both versions keep the 1.5-inch AMOLED display, BioTracker 6.0 sensors, 64GB storage, 10 ATM water resistance and up to 21 days of battery life.
That pricing leaves the titanium model in a tighter spot within Amazfit’s lineup, sitting $150 below the $599.99 Balance Ultra, which also uses titanium but adds longer battery life and extra hardware.
