Spain-Morocco Gas Flows Drop Nearly 33% to 20.3 GWh as Cause Remains Unclear

The drop interrupts a mixed 2026 pattern: January-July flows were down 13.7% year on year to 4.95 TWh, even after July rebounded to 992 GWh from April's 342 GWh low during Hormuz-linked disruption.
The slowdown lands as Spanish media spotlight Morocco's reliance on Spanish gas and power links, while Rabat pushes solar, wind, LNG terminal plans and a revived Portugal interconnection to cut that dependence.
