A Geekbench listing for the presumed Xperia 10 VIII, model XQ-GH54, shows the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and 8GB of RAM as the Xperia 10 VII. That suggests little to no performance leap, continuing Sony’s recent pattern of reusing the same chipset across Xperia 10 generations. Regulatory filings and leaks also indicate continuity elsewhere. FCC-related details point to the return of the 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi‑Fi 6, NFC, and similar LTE support. Leaked design images show a phone that closely resembles the Xperia 10 VII, with the same flat body and horizontal dual-camera layout. Reports also suggest the 6.1-inch 120Hz OLED display and 5,000mAh battery may carry over unchanged. That does not mean the device will be meaningless. Sony’s likely pitch is consistency: legacy features many rivals have dropped, such as the headphone jack and possibly microSD expansion, plus a familiar Sony design and camera-focused identity. For buyers who value those traits more than raw annual spec gains, that can still be a practical update. But based on everything available before the event, expectations should be modest. Unless Sony reveals meaningful camera, software, battery-efficiency, or pricing improvements during the stream, the Xperia 10 VIII looks set to be an incremental refresh rather than a major step forward.
