Friday’s 10 a.m.-to-noon virtual workshop will train educators on involving middle school students with autism spectrum disorder in computing classes.
Youngstown State University and the National Science Foundation-backed ISAC-X Grant Project will present a multigrade initiative to develop, test and share accessible computational thinking curricula, accommodations and instructional resources.
Workshop participants will review findings on how those adaptations worked, including student outcomes and teachers’ views of the process used to create classroom supports.
The session is aimed at expanding access to computing education by giving schools practical tools, peer exchange and strategies that can be applied directly in classrooms.
