Florida Recovers 163 Missing Children Across 5 Continents, Arrests 3 Men

A five-day Florida-led sweep in mid-August recovered 163 children ages 2 months to 17 in what officials called the state's largest child-recovery operation.
The children were found in eight U.S. jurisdictions and 12 other countries, with cases involving runaways as well as abandonment, abuse and trafficking tied to online predators.
Three men have been arrested so far: Michael Corey Prescott, Robert Ferral Allison and Jayden Allen Harwood, while officials said more investigations are underway and additional arrests are expected.
Recovered children were taken to support hubs for medical care, victim services and welfare screening; some were reunited with families and others placed in foster care.
FDLE coordinated Operation Statewide Shield with state, local, federal and foreign partners, using tactics drawn from earlier U.S. Marshals child-recovery efforts.
