Summary
Gamescom ONL 2026 delivered the first proper trailer for The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, showing Geralt returning in 2027 for a new story set 12 years after the 2015 RPG's launch.
Letten, the expansion's new realm, was pitched as an idyllic land of festivals and folklore hiding a dark secret, with Geralt facing new monsters and a long-dormant evil.
CD Projekt Red also highlighted a new chain weapon that lets Geralt grapple enemies; the studio said the tool was first shown in The Witcher 1's intro.
Miles Tost said the add-on fulfills a long-held plan for one last Geralt adventure before Ciri takes over in The Witcher 4, expected in 2028.
Songs of the Past has no exact date yet, but wishlisting is live and the expansion is slated for PC, Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
