Zymire Hughes Arrested in Las Vegas Over Aug. 12 Philadelphia Mask Assaults

U.S. marshals arrested 22-year-old Zymire Hughes in Las Vegas, where he is being held at Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
Authorities say Hughes fled the Philadelphia area on Aug. 19, flew from New Jersey to Orlando and then to Las Vegas, and spent five days hiding at a southeast Las Vegas apartment complex.
Surveillance footage helped the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force find him; marshals said he resisted arrest, nothing was recovered, and he gave no statement about a motive.
Philadelphia police want Hughes on an aggravated assault warrant tied to Aug. 12 incidents near City Hall, where a masked man allegedly chased and threatened several people while recording them.
One 40-year-old jogger told police the suspect asked, "Are you ready to die?" and kept an arm behind his back as if armed; she fled and suffered a leg injury requiring extensive treatment.
