Philadelphia Chucky Mask Suspect, 22, May Be in Los Angeles as Police Hunt Him

Zymire Hughes, 22, may already be in the Los Angeles area, police said Thursday, widening the search for the man accused of threatening people in downtown Philadelphia while wearing a Chucky-style mask.
Surveillance video showed Hughes packing bags and leaving his apartment complex this week, and investigators said his frequent travel between Los Angeles and Las Vegas points to Southern California or Nevada.
Philadelphia police and the U.S. Marshals Service have an active arrest warrant for Hughes, who was identified Thursday and now faces felony and misdemeanor assault charges while on probation.
The Aug. 12 incidents included Hughes allegedly asking a 40-year-old jogger, "Are you ready to die?" causing her to flee and suffer a leg injury requiring extensive treatment.
Investigators said Hughes appeared to be filming the encounters for possible social media monetization; police said he did not display a weapon, though he implied he had one in at least one confrontation.
