Q: How much of Dolly's upcoming avatar show and unreleased music did she actually finish before her sudden passing?

It is not yet known how much of the avatar show Dolly Parton had actually completed before her death, beyond the fact that it was already in development and had her personal approval. Her team has only said she spent years planning future music, film, television and brand projects with a handpicked group, and that she “worked up until the day she died.” No production details have been released about whether the avatar show had finished scripts, voice work, motion capture, or editing. For the unreleased music, the clearest verified example is stronger. Her manager said any music later issued through official Dolly Parton channels can be trusted as something she personally approved, which suggests at least some tracks were selected or signed off on before her death. One confirmed unreleased recording is “My Place in History,” a song she wrote and recorded in 2015 and sealed in a chestnut box at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort, with instructions that it not be opened until Jan. 19, 2046. That song was fully finished long before her passing. Beyond that, there is no public accounting yet of how many additional unreleased songs were fully recorded, mixed, or packaged for release. So the available evidence shows she clearly approved the pipeline, definitively completed at least one known unreleased song, and was actively shaping the avatar show, but the exact degree of completion for either has not been disclosed.
