Summary
Three men were arrested after an Aug. 21 wedding at Westlake's La Centre Banquet Facility erupted into a fight that spilled from the ballroom into the parking lot, injuring guests and forcing a multi-department police response.
Police said a long-running feud between two families drove the clash, and Ali Wahdan, 47, allegedly helped trigger it by staying despite a temporary protection order requiring him to leave if protected relatives were present.
Raed Mahmoud Sulaiman, 46, was charged with assault, inducing panic and tampering with evidence after officers accused him of threatening guests with a butter knife and discarding it as police arrived; Abdallah Wahdan, 48, was charged with aggravated menacing.
911 calls reported bleeding guests and an ongoing fight inside and outside the venue, while body-camera, dashcam and cellphone footage showed officers separating groups as paramedics treated the injured.
Rocky River Municipal Court filed the charges, and after police restored order, the wedding resumed without further trouble.
