Some Nevada beneficiaries will see three payments in October and December because of how the Social Security Administration schedules SSI when the first of the next month falls on a weekend or holiday. For people who receive both Supplemental Security Income and regular Social Security, the month can include their normal SSI payment at the start of the month, their regular Social Security benefit on its usual date, and then an early SSI payment for the following month at the end of the same month. That is what will happen in October 2026: dual recipients can receive SSI on Oct. 1, their regular Social Security payment during the month, and the November SSI payment on Oct. 30 because Nov. 1 falls on a weekend. A similar calendar shift happens in December, when recipients can get SSI on Dec. 1, their regular Social Security benefit, and then the January 2027 SSI payment on Dec. 31 because New Year’s Day is a holiday. The extra-looking payment is not a bonus or increase in benefits. It is simply the next month’s SSI payment arriving early under SSA rules that move payments to the prior business day when the normal payment date lands on a weekend or federal holiday.

If your September Social Security payment does not arrive, wait at least three business days before reporting it missing. The Social Security Administration says short delays can happen even when payments are sent on time, especially with electronic deposits and bank posting times. Before contacting the agency, check your scheduled payment date carefully, since September 2026 payments depend on the type of benefit and, for most recipients, your birth date.
