Real American Freestyle Reschedules RAF 14 to Oct. 23 as RAF 13 Moves to Sept. 18

Q: Will Dillon Danis's recent arm injury completely derail his highly anticipated October crossover title fight against UFC contender Arman Tsarukyan?

No. Danis’s arm injury has not yet completely derailed the Oct. 23 Real American Freestyle bout with Arman Tsarukyan, but it has clearly increased the risk that the fight could still fall apart. The strongest sign the matchup remains alive is that RAF did not cancel it. Instead, the promotion moved RAF 14 from Oct. 3 to Oct. 23 while keeping the same main event, venue and city in place. That suggests organizers believe Danis may still have enough time to recover. At the same time, there is real uncertainty. Danis just withdrew from his Mike Perry fight after suffering a significant arm laceration that required stitches, and RAF has not confirmed whether that injury caused the date change. Until there is a medical update on how serious the injury is and whether it affects training, the bout cannot be considered secure. There is also a second major variable unrelated to Danis. Tsarukyan is scheduled to face Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331 on Sept. 19 in Los Angeles. If Tsarukyan loses, gets injured, or is suspended medically, the crossover title fight in Las Vegas could be jeopardized regardless of Danis’s condition. So the fight is postponed, not dead. But between Danis’s fresh injury and Tsarukyan’s UFC commitment, the Oct. 23 date remains conditional rather than certain.

RAF pushed RAF 14 from Oct. 3 to Oct. 23, keeping Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dillon Danis atop the card at BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas.
Danis suffered an injury earlier this week that scrapped his Mike Perry fight in Orlando, though RAF has not said whether that setback caused the delay.
Tsarukyan also still must get through a UFC 331 bout with Mauricio Ruffy next month in Los Angeles before the crossover title fight can happen.
RAF 13 was moved one day earlier to Sept. 18 at Watsco Center in Coral Gables, with Belal Muhammad vs. Colby Covington marking its second date change.
