A July 22 missed immigration hearing triggered a final removal order, and DHS said Yiannopoulos had overstayed after legally entering the U.S. through New York on May 14, 2019.
Federal records earlier showed him in immigration custody in Alexandria, Louisiana, while the latest account identifies the airport arrest and the reason for detention.
Yiannopoulos, a former Breitbart editor who later worked for Ye, was in Louisiana before the rapper's Friday night New Orleans concert, though it is unclear whether the trip was related.
