Summary
Ohio Mobile ID is now live in Google Wallet, giving Android users a digital credential they can use to verify age or identity at select businesses and venues.
Users add it by opening Google Wallet, selecting “Add to Wallet,” choosing “ID Card” and “Ohio,” then completing verification prompts; Google Wallet had not added a new state ID for 10 months.
The digital ID is accepted in many Ohio state buildings, at all TSA checkpoints nationwide and at Ohio casinos, though the BMV says users should still carry their physical license or ID.
Ohio already launched Mobile ID for Apple Wallet in 2024, and its addition makes Ohio the 12th state or territory supported in Google Wallet.
