Nine days before Apple’s Sept. 9 event, a new Unbox Therapy video showed alleged near-final dummy units for the iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone Ultra sourced from China.
The foldable Ultra appeared more finished than earlier mockups, adding an Apple logo, buttons and speakers, but it still would not power on and showed a pronounced screen crease despite reports Apple had reduced it.
Lewis Hilsenteger’s video also showed the Ultra’s passport-style fold, two-lens rear camera and mixed rounded-sharp corners, while the 18 Pro Max looked largely unchanged from the iPhone 17 line.
The Pro Max dummy units appeared in four colors, including a dark cherry finish expected to be this year’s signature shade, plus metallic blue, silver and black.
Apple’s Sept. 9 “Surprise and Shine” event is expected to unveil the new iPhones alongside at least eight products, with upgraded Siri and AI integration likely central to the launch.
