A 44-member South Korean disaster relief team landed in Kathmandu on Wednesday and headed directly to Nepal’s flood-hit areas to search for victims, including nine missing Koreans.
The team brought 1,000 pieces of search-and-rescue equipment, underscoring a rapid deployment focused on locating the missing in hard-hit flood zones.
Kathmandu is serving as the entry point for the operation, with the search now shifting from arrival logistics to field work in affected areas.
The deployment highlights Seoul’s emergency response to an overseas disaster as efforts intensify to find the nine Koreans missing in Nepal’s floods.
