Apple said iOS 27 will let users switch a single phone number between two iPhones, a small feature MacRumors said was mentioned offstage rather than demonstrated at WWDC.
MacRumors described the capability in cautious terms and did not confirm whether it worked in the June developer beta, leaving unclear whether only one iPhone is active at a time or both can share the line.
Carrier support may be required, the report said, because phone numbers are tied to carrier-controlled SIM or eSIM provisioning rather than iOS alone.
iOS 27 is expected to ship this fall after a June developer beta and planned July public beta, but Apple has not published setup instructions, supported carriers or device eligibility for the feature.
