Kuwait and Bahrain intercepted Iranian drone and missile attacks after Tehran opened a second straight night of strikes on Gulf U.S. allies following Wednesday’s American bombardment.
Four people — including two children — were killed and at least 68 wounded when Iranian media said a U.S. strike hit a wedding gathering in Kuhestak; the U.S. said it never targets civilians.
The escalation follows Sunday’s U.S. strike on Iranian rocket launchers in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s earlier missile attack on U.S. bases in Jordan, which Washington said was fully intercepted.
The wider fallout is spreading through shipping and diplomacy: two Filipino sailors were killed in a tanker attack near Hormuz, traffic through the waterway has slowed sharply, and Egypt, Qatar and Pakistan urged renewed U.S.-Iran talks.
