Ben and Will Wright, two Utah Valley University students, turned recurring cavities and root canals into Klyyr, a toothpaste startup built from AI-assisted product research.
AI helped the brothers compare ideas and draft a formula, which they then refined with food scientists and chemists to meet product standards.
The Wrights said that human experts still make the final call, using AI to speed research rather than replace scientific judgment.
Klyyr is their first product as members of UVU's first applied AI master's cohort, and they say they plan to use the same approach for more products.
