Google Tests Gemini Camera UI in v17.55.8 as @ Menu Hides Disabled Apps

Version 17.55.8 of the Google app contains a test Gemini redesign that shrinks the camera viewfinder to roughly half the screen, keeping the chat visible underneath.
That camera layout resembles ChatGPT’s mobile interface and adds a top handle to expand or minimize the view, plus a back button and a retouched shutter key.
The prototype also moves the front-back camera switch into a three-dot menu, a step back from the current one-tap toggle.
In the same build, Google is reworking the @ menu into a wider “Connectors” panel that hides disabled Connected Apps, links to “Connect apps,” and shows an Avatars section.
Because the changes were found in an APK teardown, Google may never ship them publicly.
