Surveillance video and building records showed him and his mother entering together around 10:32 p.m., then captured him about 4:26 a.m. in bloodstained clothes carrying a knife before changing shirts and leaving briefly.
A search of the apartment reportedly turned up several bloodied kitchen knives, blood-spattered shirts, broken glass and a broken wine bottle; police said the victim, not publicly identified, was visiting from Mexico.
DHS said ICE lodged the detainer on Aug. 5 and described Cremasco-Cicero as a Mexican national in the U.S. illegally, while investigators have not disclosed a motive beyond his self-defense claim.
