ICE said both Cuban men entered near Key West in May 1980 without inspection and had remained in the U.S. illegally for about 46 years; both are now held with ICE detainers.
Medina had four prior felony convictions and a 1996 final exclusion order, while Valdes had earlier Miami-Dade drug-related charges and a 1993 exclusion order; both pleaded not guilty.
