Summary
Five airport contract workers were killed and two others injured after an Amazon cargo jet crash-landed Sunday at Miami International Airport and struck their van.
The Boeing 767-300, operated for Amazon by 21 Air from San Juan, overshot the runway, crossed a grass field, tore through a perimeter fence and hit an SUV before stopping near a parking lot.
NTSB officials said they will begin interviewing the plane’s crew Wednesday morning and are already reviewing black-box flight recordings.
The dead were workers for Professional Ocean Service Corporation, Cuban immigrants who cleaned planes and collected trash at the airport to support families in Florida and on the island.
