At least 6 people were killed overnight in cross-border drone attacks, with 4 dead and 29 injured in Ukraine's strike on Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and 2 civilians killed at a Ukraine-Moldova border crossing.
Novorossiysk authorities said drone debris hit businesses, sparked fires and nearly struck a residential building; in nearby Anapa, falling debris damaged three homes and a kindergarten without causing casualties.
At Starokozace, 3 more people were wounded and the checkpoint was temporarily closed after Russian strikes triggered multiple fires, while Kyiv also came under attack overnight with fires but no reported deaths.
Russia's Defense Ministry said it shot down nearly 600 Ukrainian drones, underscoring the scale of the latest barrage against a port city critical for Russian oil and grain exports.
The attacks came a day after Russia resumed near-daily strikes on Kyiv following a brief pause during US talks in Moscow, with peace efforts still stalled beyond sporadic prisoner swaps.
