Victor Glover Takes Full-Time Cal Poly Leadership Role After 2026 Artemis II Moon Flight

Glover said the move also brings him closer to family: he met wife Dionna at Cal Poly 30 years ago, and three of their four daughters are now living on campus.
NASA shifted Glover into an unpaid astronaut emeritus role, making him a special government employee while Cal Poly becomes his primary employer; he said he is the first astronaut to use the program this way.
The hire fits a broader university trend of bringing astronauts and aerospace veterans into advisory roles to deepen industry ties, research links and STEM recruitment.
